Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal remain in the tournament, with Spain next in the Round of 16.
Switzerland 2-0 Algeria
Switzerland beat Algeria 2-0 and continued its pattern of dependable knockout-stage performances. Defensive structure and set-piece quality again provided the foundation.
Switzerland now faces Colombia in a matchup likely to be defined by discipline, midfield duels and limited margins.
